Gift Wrapping Tips
If you’re like most of us, you’ve shopped online or scoured West Lafayette, IN for the best deals; your holiday gifts are probably squirreled away all over your apartment at Collegiate Communities (or perhaps they are stacked neatly in a closet if you’re organized). Either way, it’s normal if they still need wrapping. Today, we’ve got some tips for getting everything all wrapped up in time for the gift-giving to begin.
Get organized.
When it comes to wrapping gifts, staying organized is important for saving time and money. The first step is to gather everything you need for gift wrapping together in one place. Find a container (such as a cardboard box, a plastic bin, or even a brown paper grocery store bag) and stock it with your supplies: tape, scissors, ribbon, bows, markers, gift bags, gift tags, and of course a wide selection of tissue paper and wrapping paper.
Set up a wrapping station.
This is especially useful if you need to wrap all your gifts over the course of a couple of evenings. Choose a place that has a flat surface to wrap on, such as a table, counter, or even the floor. It is much easier to measure and cut paper on a flat surface. Gather all of the things you will need for wrapping.
Non-wrapped Gifts
Sometimes you want the gift to be used during the season (or you just run out of wrapping paper). In this case, add a pretty bow and gift tag, but don’t cover the item. You could do this for a home-canned jar of pie filling, a box of ornaments, and other types of food gifts. These types of gifts are often used for neighbors, teachers, and more casual acquaintances. Here is a list of 50 Neighbor Gift Ideas to get your imagination going.
